Alison Holt BSc MSc PhD is a Director and co-founder of Natural Capital Solutions. She is an interdisciplinary scientist with over 20 years of experience in academia and as a consultant. She leads innovative projects using scientifically rigorous natural capital and ecosystem service assessment approaches (e.g. mapping, valuation and accounting, biodiversity and natural capital net gain), at a range of scales and tailored to the context. Alison has advised and managed projects for clients in the public, third, and private sectors, across planning and development, health, conservation, agriculture, and land management. This has allowed them to embed the natural capital approach into their decision making, to create strategies and business cases that deliver benefits for people and nature.
Jim Rouquette BSc MSc PhD is a Director and co-founder of Natural Capital Solutions. He is an experienced environmental and interdisciplinary scientist having spent over 20 years working in academia and as a consultant. He is an expert in natural capital and ecosystem services assessment, including modelling, mapping and monetary valuation, biodiversity and natural capital net gain, natural capital accounting, opportunity mapping, and stakeholder engagement. Jim has extensive project management experience and leads teams in helping clients understand their natural capital assets and the opportunities that they present. Jim has a proven ability to establish good working relationships with client teams and partners, alongside excellent written, inter-personal, and presentational skills.
Valentina Zini BSc MSc PhD is a Senior Technical Specialist at Natural Capital Solutions. Originally a wildlife ecologist, she has developed a passion for spatially explicit investigation of natural phenomena. At Natural Capital Solutions Valentina uses and develops her expertise in GIS and coding in R to develop improved and novel models to map natural capital using a range of data sources, quantify a diverse range of ecosystem services, and to map opportunities for enhancing biodiversity and ecosystem services. She also devises new ways of applying these tools to different contexts, and for visualising data.
Chris Osborne BA MSc is a GIS Developer at Natural Capital Solutions. He specialises in GIS and remote sensing applications, particularly using open-source platforms and is skilled in web development and database management. Having previously worked for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust for four years, he has successfully employed these skills in the conservation sector. In previous roles, he has served as the GIS lead for projects including the Yorkshire Peat Partnership and Pennine PeatLIFE.
Malori Richards BA MSc is a Consultant at Natural Capital Solutions. She is an interdisciplinary scientist with a background in conservation and urban ecology. At Natural Capital Solutions, Malori is using her experience to deliver high-quality technical reports to clients, maintain and create positive working relationships with clients and produce high-quality natural capital and ecosystem service maps in R. She is also helping to manage the company’s social media platforms.
Adam Harrison BA MBBChir MSc is a Consultant at Natural Capital Solutions. He is an interdisciplinary scientist with a background in human medicine and more recently in conservation. At Natural Capital Solutions, Adam uses a broad range of experiences to develop and apply different tools to value natural capital and ecosystem services, and to deliver high-quality reports to clients.
